The MIT Kavli Institute labs and offices in Building NE83 are accessible only to authorized people. The card readers are opened using MIT proximity ID cards. Authorizations are assigned or deleted by Brian Surette, with Jack Defandorf as his backup. All requests for authorization should be emailed to Jack Defandorf and should include the person's first and last names and MIT ID number. Requests do not need to be made in person.
Our offices on the sixth floor of Building 37 are accessible to anyone between 8 AM and 6 PM every weekday. Nights and weekends either MIT proximity card access (in the elevators) or a hard key (for the stairwells) is needed for entry. Requests for proximity card access should be made in the same way as above.
Our LIGO offices and labs in Buildings NW17 and NW22 are on a separate key card system. Please contact Brian Surette to obtain a card.
